Sony unveils specs of the PSP2 “Next Generation Portable” gaming console
Sony has just announced its new portable gaming platform PSP2 in Tokyo, Japan. PSP2 is known as “Next Generation Portable” since long time and is been awaited for long time for game addicts like me.
This beast is supposed to have dual analog stick (I always needed this, 1 was never enough), Multitouch capacitive touch pad, 5-inch touchscreen OLED display with 960 x 544 resolution, and giganic quad-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor!!! It also has GPS, wifi, 3g (yes you heard it right
) and standard accelerometer That is a hell of a upgrade from current PSP Go.
I have been the PSP game addict since long time and was waiting for this kind of good upgrade. I never liked this stupid PSP GO device. Now I need to sell my 3001 PSP slim.
Here is the comparison between PSP, PSP GO and PSP2,
Sony has already made its move to discountinue UMD disk media for game distribution so we are expecting some new way to do this e.g. flash drive or direct SD card.
UI or OS to be used in PSP2 is called “Live area” and it will have configurable home screens. It will be integrated with various social networks. You will not lose the gaming progress while switching to live area from running game unlike current PSP
